Almost 200 regional and international business leaders, government representatives and renowned influencers gathered in Madrid last week to discuss the continued evolution of the growing gas and LNG market at the Gastech 2018 Roadshow.
The one-day event, held at the Official College of Architects of Madrid, was the first such Roadshow ahead of Gastech 2018, which will see the global gas industry converge in Spain next year.
Delegates heard insights from leading Spanish energy companies as well as key Association partner Sedigas, in addition to leading energy industry consultancy, Wood Mackenzie.
During the event, speakers discussed the global move towards the greater adoption of gas and LNG as the fuel of choice and how the industry continues to see signposts pointing towards further increases. Governing Body and programme director, Gavin Sutcliffe said: “This means more investment, more transactions, more employees, more infrastructures and more technology and expanded commercial and technical sessions at the 2018 conference will look to support this growth.”
A second Roadshow will take place in spring 2018 ahead of the Gastech Exhibition and Conference in September 2018. The industry leading conference will see more than 1,200 CEOs, chairmen, managing directors, presidents, government officials and ministers among 3,500 global conference delegates to consider the key challenges facing the industry and discuss the most important topics that will shape the future of the world’s gas, LNG and energy industries for decades to come.
Gavin Sutcliffe continued: “This first Gastech Roadshow was a fantastic introduction to the key issues, topics and trends that we will be discussing next September”.
“Emerging gas markets are generating greater confidence, with long-term planning, increased infrastructure investments, advancing technologies and rising employment levels”, Sutcliffe explained.
“There’s a real buzz around gas and LNG currently and Gastech 2018 will reflect this by bringing together the entire value chain from the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors to connect with new consumers and suppliers and the world’s largest gas and LNG marketplace”, said.
“By spring next year, the full Gastech conference programme will be available and we’re looking forward to the next Roadshow to announce the presentations that will be featured at the conference next September”, Sutcliffe finished.
